Every semester, the Emory University Catholic Center works to provide opportunities for students to serve the Atlanta community. Keep an eye out for opportunities in our weekly bulletin! Some of the opportunities we have had in the past include:

  • Habitat for Humanity Build Projects
  • MedShare
  • St. Francis Soup Kitchen
  • Catholic Center Work Day

Christmas Giving

During the Advent season, we sponsor a Christmas giving project. In past years, we have provided books and infant care products for Our House, Inc. and the Atlanta Day Shelter, which provide housing and early childhood education services for homeless families with infants and young children.

This year, we are supporting a medical mission trip to Haiti.

Due to governmental shutdown and repeated natural disasters, Haiti's public medical system is currently in shambles and many people are in need of medical care. However, very few hospitals remain open - public hospital workers are not willing to work for free, leaving only private, expensive options available for an extremely impoverished population. All proceeds will be used to directly purchase medical supplies.

Eternal Hope in Haiti, a nonprofit organization founded by Emory University nursing school staff, is working to provide critical medical care for 6 communities and an orphanage around Cap Haiten, Haiti. All proceeds will be used to directly purchase medical supplies for those in need.

As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace. Whoever preaches, let it be with the words of God; whoever serves, let it be with the strength that God supplies, so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
